Why this exists

There has never been more written about Witchcraft, and it has never been harder to know what to trust.

The people who know the Craft best have mostly kept their counsel.

The Circle of the Wise is where they speak: initiates and scholars, one subject at a time, with the care the subject deserves.

It is for anyone who is serious about the Craft, whatever their path.

Levi Rowland.

Series one

Levi Rowland

Alexandrian High Priest · Pontchartrain Coven, New Orleans

Craft of the Inner Planes

An Alexandrian High Priest who teaches in the Pontchartrain Coven outside New Orleans. He is the author of The Art Cosmic and Mother, and writes on occult theology as Witch Priest.

Why inner training has always been treated as essential to initiatory Craft, read through Franz Bardon’s hermetic system alongside Alexandrian teaching.

Can ritual alone make a magician?

I Esoteric versus Exoteric Thursday 15 October Teaser free to watch

The outer form of a rite and the inner work behind it. Why initiatory traditions cultivate the practitioner, not only the ritual.

II Franz Bardon and Initiation into Hermetics Saturday 31 October For members

Bardon’s hermetic system in outline: mental discipline, visualisation and the balance of the elements.

III Psychic Development in Alexandrian Craft December 2026 For members

Tim Landry.

Anthropologist · Gardnerian High Priest, Boston

Embracing Animism

Associate Professor of Anthropology and Religious Studies, and author of Vodún: Secrecy and the Search for Divine Power. He is a Gardnerian initiate and High Priest of the Beacon Hill Coven in Boston.

Witches learn to read the world as a system of correspondences. This series asks what changes when we meet it as someone we are in relationship with.

What if the world is someone, not something?

I How the West "Invented" the Animist November 2026 Teaser free to watch

Where the word came from: the nineteenth-century idea of animism as primitive religion, and the very different meaning it carries now.

What do we actually mean when we call something animist?

II Beyond Correspondence: From Symbols to Relationships For members

Rose, Venus, love. What tables of correspondence teach a witch to see, and what they quietly hide.

What happens when we encounter the world primarily through systems of correspondence?

III Magic as Relationship: From Correspondence to Participation For members

Power as something that arises between a witch, a place, the spirits and the dead, not from the right ingredients correctly assembled.

Where does magical power come from?

Two more sessions follow for members in the new year.

Questions.

What is the Circle of the Wise?

A membership from Alexandrian Witchcraft. Each month brings a new teaching module from an initiate or a scholar, live sessions with the presenter and with Sharon Day, and a private community.

What does it cost?

£15 a month, or £150 a year with two months free. You can cancel at any time. Registering your interest costs nothing.

What happens when I register?

We add you to our mailing list. You will hear when the first free module is published and when the doors open, and you will receive our occasional letters. You can unsubscribe from any email.

Do I need to be an initiate, or an Alexandrian?

No. It is for anyone serious about the Craft, of any path or none.

Is oathbound material shared?

No. Nothing oathbound is taught or discussed, and our presenters say so when a conversation approaches that line.

I have an account on alexandrianwitchcraft.com. Do I need another?

No. The same email signs you in here. The Circle of the Wise and Alexandrian Witchcraft share one account, so a membership bought on either site is yours on both.

Can I cancel?

Yes, at any time, from your account. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
